AIYAO Start a Project

About AIYAO

Built like infrastructure, not a pitch deck.

AIYAO is an IT development and consulting company. We build web and software projects, set up and maintain cloud infrastructure, and advise on technical decisions — for businesses that need things to keep working after launch, not just look good on demo day.

In Short

A few things worth knowing upfront.

Why We Exist

A lot of IT work ships fast and rots quietly — undocumented, brittle, hard to hand off. Six months later nobody remembers why a decision was made, and the person who made it has moved on. We scope for the system’s whole life, not just the launch date, because the cost of a project doesn’t stop at deployment.

Why We Stay Small

You talk directly to the person doing the work. No account manager relaying messages, no layers between you and what’s actually happening on the project. Staying small is a deliberate choice, not a limitation — it’s what makes direct communication possible in the first place.

How We Scope Work

Every engagement starts with a real conversation about your situation, not a fixed package pulled off a shelf. We’d rather spend an extra call getting the scope right than rush into a project built on a wrong assumption. See our Services page for how pricing works.

Software is grown, not just assembled.

Good systems are tended — documented, monitored, and adjusted as the business around them changes. That’s the lens we bring to every engagement, whether it’s a new build or someone else’s legacy code.

How We Think About This Work

The mindset behind the process.

The operational rules (written scope, ownership, no minimum term) are on the Services page. This is the thinking underneath them.

01

We’d rather be boring than clever

A reliable, well-understood technical choice beats an impressive one that adds risk nobody asked for.

02

Every project teaches us something

We keep notes on what worked and what didn’t, and that shapes how the next engagement gets scoped.

03

Judgment beats a checklist

Process exists to serve the work, not the other way around — we’ll deviate from our own playbook when the situation genuinely calls for it.

04

We say the quiet part out loud

If a deadline looks unrealistic or a request will cost more than it’s worth, that gets said before it becomes a problem — not after.

05

Small doesn’t mean casual

Working lean means fewer approval layers between you and the work, not lower standards for the work itself.

06

Success is measured a year later

Not by what demoed well on delivery day — by whether it’s still running cleanly long after we’ve moved on.

How the Work Gets Done

One point of contact, four disciplines.

No account manager standing between you and the person doing the work — each discipline below is handled directly.

Development

Web and software builds, new or existing codebases.

Cloud & DevOps

Infrastructure setup, migrations, and deploy pipelines.

Consulting

Architecture review and technical decision support.

Integration

Connecting the systems and tools you already run.

Every decision explained, not just delivered.

If we chose one approach over another, you’ll know why — not just that it works, but what we weighed before landing on it.

Just As Important

What we won’t do.

Some of this costs us a project every so often. We’d rather lose the project than the trust.

Chase every trend

A new framework or platform launching this month doesn’t mean it belongs in your stack. We recommend what’s proven to fit, not what’s fashionable this quarter.

Take on work we’re not suited for

If a project needs specialized expertise we genuinely don’t have, we’ll say so and point you elsewhere rather than learning on your budget.

Lock you into our own tooling

Whatever we build runs on standard, well-supported technology — not a proprietary system only we can maintain.

Disappear after handoff

We stay reachable for the questions that come up once something’s actually running in production, not just during the build.

Oversell what AI tooling can do

AI speeds up parts of the work. It doesn’t replace judgment about architecture, security, or whether a feature should exist at all.

Pad the invoice with hours you didn’t ask for

If something takes less time than scoped, you’re billed for less time — not the original estimate regardless of outcome.

The details most people never see.

Good infrastructure is invisible when it’s working — that’s the standard we build to, not just what demos well.

Common Questions

About working with us.

Is AIYAO an agency or a freelancer?

We operate as a lean IT development and consulting practice — not a large agency with account-manager layers, but not a single freelancer juggling everything either.

Do you specialize in a specific industry?

We work across industries — what matters more to us is the technical shape of the project than the sector it’s in. Tell us about yours on the first call.

How is AIYAO different from a typical dev shop?

We scope for maintainability from the start and document what we build, so a project doesn’t become unmanageable the moment we step back.

Do you only take on new projects, or also inherited ones?

Both, and inherited projects are common. We review what exists, flag what’s fragile, and give you an honest picture before recommending a rebuild over a fix.

What happens if we’re not a good fit?

We’ll say so directly, and where possible point you toward what kind of help would actually fit better — there’s no benefit to either of us in a bad-fit engagement.

Do you take equity or revenue share instead of payment?

No. Our fees are for the work we do, agreed upfront in cash terms — not tied to your outcomes or ownership.

How do you handle confidentiality on sensitive projects?

We sign NDAs when a project calls for it and only access what’s needed to do the work — access is scoped and revoked when the engagement ends.
